Usha Resources Launches Phase Four at White Willow Lithium Project
Usha Resources Ltd. has initiated the fourth phase of fieldwork at the White Willow Lithium Pegmatite Project aiming to further explore the "Maple Leaf" and "Bingo" LCT dykes before beginning its first drill program in the coming Spring. This follows the successful completion of its third phase in January, where 727 grab samples were collected, revealing a potential strike expansion of the LCT pegmatite trend to over 27 km.
The latest phase was spurred by promising assay data from the Phase 3 fieldwork, allowing for an early start thanks to mild winter conditions. Positioned 170 km west of Thunder Bay, Ontario, the Project has identified 10 pegmatite targets over 19 weeks of field operations. CEO Deepak Varshney expressed confidence in the project's potential, drawing parallels with known lithium pegmatite clusters indicating significant deposit possibilities.
Fieldwork will hone in on fractionated pegmatites along a 27 km strike, especially at Maple Leaf and Bingo targets where evolved chemical signatures hint at a high potential for lithium-rich pegmatites. Up to 0.5% Li2O and notable amounts of cesium, tantalum, and rubidium have been reported from these targets, suggesting an advanced degree of fractionation. Lithogeochemical sampling aims to reveal buried spodumene mineralization.
In addition, Usha Resources announced agreements to acquire 100% interest in 107 mineral claims adjacent to the Bingo pegmatite swarm, enhancing the project's scope without any net-smelter returns royalty implications. This strategic expansion underscores the company's commitment to establishing a notable lithium source in Ontario, with further results and analyses expected soon.
