USU has secured a project to implement a central Software Asset Management (SAM) solution at the Technical University of Braunschweig. The SAM system will operate as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) in USU's data center in Aachen.

The medium-term objective for TU Braunschweig is to develop a comprehensive IT Asset Management system for transparent control of all IT assets throughout their lifecycle. Initially, USU License Management will offer an updated central view of software assets used by all faculties at the university. This approach is expected to enhance audit and compliance security while enabling significant cost savings, especially with major software vendors like Microsoft.

USU's selection was based on the SAM software’s functional depth, discovery capabilities, USU's consulting expertise, and successful project implementations. The established USU portfolio also allows for the integration of additional IT management modules in the future.

Achim Rudolph, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of USU, stated, “Universities and colleges face complex contractual conditions for software. We are pleased to support TU Braunschweig actively.”
