VARTA AG, based in Ellwangen, announced a postponement in the release of its annual financial statements and consolidated financial reports for the fiscal year 2023. Initially scheduled for March 28, 2024, the publication has been deferred to a yet unspecified date, likely post-April 30, 2024. This decision stems from operational disruptions caused by a cyberattack targeting the company's IT systems on February 13, 2024.

The cyberattack and subsequent IT shutdown for security reasons have led to significant delays in finalizing and auditing the company's financial reports for 2023. Access to essential financial data and business documents has been severely limited, impeding the audit process. Despite partially restoring its IT systems and resuming major production operations, VARTA AG faces ongoing challenges that affect its ability to complete and publish the audited financial reports within the original timeframe.

In response, VARTA AG is accelerating the recovery of its systems and actively collaborating with its auditors to ensure the availability of necessary documents for the financial audit. The company plans to announce a revised publication date for its 2023 financial reports shortly. Consequently, the Annual General Meeting, initially planned for May 23, 2024, will also be rescheduled once the publication date for the financial reports is determined.
