Velox Energy Materials Reports Positive Results from Metallurgical Testwork
Toronto-based Velox Energy Materials Inc. has announced successful outcomes from the Phase 1 metallurgical testwork of its North Queensland Vanadium Project, significantly enhancing the grade of vanadium from samples taken from the Cambridge Vanadium Deposit.
The testwork performed on three composite samples derived from drillholes showed marked increases in V2O5 concentration, specifically in the -38μm particle size fraction. For instance, initial head grades of 0.23% and 0.41% V2O5 significantly leaped to 0.84% and 0.98% respectively after processing. These results represent an improvement of 2.4 to 3.65 times the initial grades.
Conducted by Brisbane Met Labs, these tests are part of an ongoing effort to better understand and effectively extract mineral resources. The findings are particularly encouraging as they suggest potential high-grade outputs from future concentrates, according to Simon Coyle, Velox's President and CEO.
The company plans to progress to Phase 2 of the testwork, extending studies to additional composite samples and incorporating advanced processing techniques. This phase is expected to be completed by the end of the second quarter of CY24, with further updates anticipated.
