During the Smart City World Expo Congress in Barcelona, Veolia announced a €30 million investment in the Axeleo GreenTech Industry (GTI I) fund. This initiative is focused on accelerating the ecological transformation of industries throughout Europe. Veolia collaborates with Bpifrance and Crédit Mutuel Alliance Fédérale in this first funding phase.

The fund, aiming to gather €250 million, targets supporting around twenty startups engaged in technologies crucial for ecological shifts. Areas like energy, chemicals, biomaterials, agriculture, and decarbonizing transport are in focus. Veolia not only provides financial support but also leverages its expertise in water, waste, and energy sectors to aid promising companies in developing solutions to reduce pollution and carbon emissions.

This venture aligns with Veolia's GreenUp strategic plan, with the goal of investing €200 million in new technologies and industrial initiatives. Estelle Brachlianoff, Veolia's CEO, emphasizes the collaboration's aim to implement solutions across Europe together with Bpifrance and Crédit Mutuel.
