Vicinity Motor Corp. Secures Expanded Order for 14 Additional Electric Buses for Honolulu Airport

Vicinity Motor Corp., a North American supplier of commercial electric vehicles, has announced an expanded order from Sustainability Partners LLC. The order has increased from four to eighteen Vicinity Lightning™ electric buses.

The buses will be utilized at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu, serving 21 million passengers annually. The transition will be financed through SP's Electric Vehicles as a Service™ (EVaaS) program. Soderholm Sales & Leasing, Inc. will facilitate the sale and ensure long-term support.

Manufacturing will take place at Vicinity’s facility in Ferndale, Washington, with deliveries scheduled for 2024. This marks the first production of ‘Made in America’ buses at this site.

Vicinity Motor Corp. President Brent Phillips emphasized the significance of this order and the strategic benefits of their electric bus solutions for Hawaii's infrastructure.
