VidaTalk Introduces New Language Support and Interpreter Request Feature to Enhance Healthcare Communication
VidaTalk announced at the ELEVATE PX conference its new updates to enhance speech and language access in healthcare. It has added five new languages, including Swahili, Hebrew, Kurdish (northern and central), and Albanian, increasing its total to 45 languages. Additionally, a significant feature, the "I want an interpreter" button, is introduced for non-English speaking patients to request an interpreter directly through the platform.
These updates aim to counter communication challenges faced by Limited English Proficiency (LEP) patients in the healthcare system, a group that includes nearly 25 million people in the United States. VidaTalk's commitment to mitigating these challenges mirrors the pressing need for effective communication tools in healthcare environments to prevent patient safety events linked to communication barriers.
VidaTalk's evolution reflects its mission to provide a seamless communication platform for all patient populations, regardless of language or speech barriers. These enhancements are poised to improve patient experience, foster inclusivity, and encourage trust within healthcare systems by facilitating more effective communication between patients and providers.
