VINCI strengthens its position in the German defense market with the acquisition of Wärtsilä SAM Electronics
VINCI Energies has entered into an agreement to acquire Hamburg-based Wärtsilä SAM Electronics GmbH. This strategic acquisition will enable VINCI to expand its presence in the defense sector in Germany. Wärtsilä SAM Electronics, founded in 1906 and a subsidiary of the Finnish group Wärtsilä Corporation, specializes in the integration of electrical and automation systems for the navy and shipyards in northern Germany.
The transaction, subject to regulatory approval, is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. It will add 350 employees and €100 million in annual revenue to VINCI Energies, which already has a strong presence in Germany with 16,600 employees at 385 sites. In 2024, the group generated revenue of nearly €5.6 billion in the country.
