VIRIDIEN DELIVERS PHASE 2 OF ITS CO2 STORAGE STUDY IN THE GULF OF MEXICO
Viridien announced the delivery of Phase 2 of its GeoVerse™ study on CO2 storage in the Gulf of Mexico. This project aims to evaluate potential carbon sequestration sites, based on multi-client seismic data collected during Phase 1.
This final product covering the shallow and coastal waters of the Gulf of Mexico will facilitate the selection of promising areas for block auctions launched by the Texas General Land Office and the School Land Board.
These studies, available under license, offer a set of interactive maps compatible with ArcGIS. They contain digitized and recompiled well data, thus allowing an accurate and consistent evaluation of the sites.
Dechun Lin, EVP, Earth Data at Viridien, highlighted the strategic importance of this study in the development of carbon sequestration (CCUS) technologies. He reiterated Viridien’s commitment to supporting operators with a robust and consistent approach.
