Viscom SE: Weak Demand Affects First Half of 2024 Performance; Annual Forecast Adjusted
Viscom SE experienced a challenging first half of 2024, marked by a significant drop in incoming orders and revenues. The company saw incoming orders fall by 41.7% year-on-year to €36.91 million, while the order backlog decreased by 49.2% to €24.56 million. Revenues were down 16.5% to €41.30 million compared to the same period last year.
EBIT plummeted to €-4.84 million from €236,000 last year. The decrease in material costs and a slight reduction in personnel expenses were not sufficient to offset the overall decline. Viscom SE implemented short-time working and other cost-cutting measures but faced challenges due to continued weak demand, especially in the automotive and industrial electronics sectors.
Despite the ongoing hurdles, Viscom remains focused on innovation and believes in potential growth areas like battery production and consumer electronics. The management maintains its revenue forecast of €80 to 95 million for 2024 but expects an EBIT margin between -3% and -9%.
