Vivendi: Reorganization and Expansion of Canal+
Vivendi announces a strategic transfer of certain assets to Canal+. This reorganization includes GVA, a telecommunications company in Africa, the streaming platform Dailymotion, the L'Olympia performance halls and the Théâtre de L'Œuvre in France as well as the CanalOlympia cinemas in Africa.
This merger positions Canal+ as a major international media player. As of December 31, 2023, this new group will have revenues of €6.2 billion, adjusted operating income of €472 million and net cash flow of €315 million.
In its new configuration, Canal+ has approximately 26.8 million subscribers. With Dailymotion and myCanal, it has a global audience of 400 million monthly active users. The group invests approximately 1 billion euros annually in technology.
Canal+ will operate through three segments: Canal+ Europe, Canal+ Africa and Asia, and content production with Studiocanal, Dailymotion and L'Olympia. In addition, the group holds strategic interests in MultiChoice, Viu and Viaplay.
