Volatus Aerospace and Kongsberg Geospatial Collaborate to Enhance BVLOS Operations

Volatus Aerospace Inc. and Kongsberg Geospatial have announced a collaboration to enhance Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) capabilities for Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS). This partnership integrates Kongsberg's IRIS Terminal into Volatus' Operations Control Center (OCC) to improve real-time airspace awareness and situational control for BVLOS operations.

Volatus will utilize its OCC to test and showcase the IRIS Terminal software to potential clients. This collaboration also aims to secure regulatory approvals across various jurisdictions, expanding compliance capabilities in the BVLOS sector.

Glen Lynch, CEO of Volatus Aerospace, stated that the alliance is set to enhance BVLOS safety, scalability, and reliability, presenting new revenue opportunities. Kongsberg CEO Jordan Freed emphasized the importance of validating technology in real-world scenarios.

The collaboration is expected to open substantial revenue opportunities and position both companies at the forefront of the expanding BVLOS market.
