Voltalia Advances Renewable Energy Projects in Uzbekistan
Voltalia has initiated construction of the Sarimay Solar power plant in Uzbekistan, with a capacity of 126 megawatts. This solar facility is expected to begin operations by the second half of 2025 and aims to reduce carbon emissions by around 116,000 tonnes annually. Additionally, Voltalia announced the establishment of a substantial battery storage initiative alongside the development of this solar plant.
During the Tashkent International Investment Forum, Voltalia secured a development memorandum for a significant new battery storage complex. This facility, planned for 500 megawatts / 1000 megawatt-hours, fortifies Voltalia's position in supporting Uzbekistan's renewable energy sector and ensuring grid stability. Further, the company confirmed a new wind project, currently under investigation, which could enhance their renewable footprint in the region.
