Voltalia Expands Syndicated Bank Loan to €324 Million
Voltalia, a global renewable energy company, has increased its syndicated bank loan to €324 million. Originally closed in July 2024, the loan included nine banks from Europe, the USA, and Japan. The successful syndication also brought in Brazil's Itau Bank and South Africa's Standard Bank.
The financing consists of a 5-year, extendable to 7 years, revolving credit facility of €176.4 million and a 5-year term loan of €147.6 million. The funds will refinance Voltalia's convertible bonds due in 2025 and support future renewable energy investments.
Labeled as sustainability-linked, the loan comes with interest rate reductions tied to ESG indicators on health, safety, and avoided CO2 emissions. CEO Sébastien Clerc notes this reflects strong partner confidence in Voltalia's business model and strategy.
