Voltalia Secures 130-Megawatt Solar Project in Tunisia

Voltalia, an international player in renewable energies listed on Euronext Paris under ISIN code: FR0011995588, has won the bid for a significant 130-megawatt solar energy project. This installation will be located near Gafsa, in southwest Tunisia.

The project is expected to generate enough electricity to meet the demand of over 700,000 local inhabitants. It will be backed by a 30-year power sales agreement with the Société Tunisienne de l'Électricité et du Gaz (STEG), the operator of Tunisia's public electricity and gas grid.

Voltalia plans to begin construction in 2025 with the goal of commissioning the plant in 2026. This development aligns with Tunisia’s aim to boost its renewable energy output to 30% by 2030, up from just 2.2% in 2023.
