Vossloh Secures €75 Million Contract for Moroccan High-Speed Rail Project
Vossloh AG has been awarded a contract worth approximately €75 million by Morocco's national railway operator, ONCF. The contract involves the supply of rail fastening and switch systems for a new high-speed rail line connecting Casablanca to Marrakesh. Scheduled deliveries will run from 2024 to 2028.
The agreement includes switch systems valued at almost €50 million, to be completed by 2027, and rail fastening systems worth around €25 million by 2028. This project will expand Morocco's existing high-speed network, enabling speeds of up to 320 km/h and significantly reducing travel times between Casablanca and Marrakesh.
The switch systems contract was signed on October 28, 2024, in Rabat, witnessed by Moroccan King Mohammed VI and French President Emmanuel Macron. This contract marks a significant step in Morocco's ambition to expand its high-speed rail network to 1,300 kilometers by 2040.
