Waga Energy Raises €52 Million Through Accelerated Bookbuild to Fund International Expansion

Waga Energy, a leader in Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) production from landfill gas, has successfully completed a capital increase, raising €52 million through an accelerated bookbuilding process. The offering attracted significant interest, leading to an oversubscription and a 15% increase from the initially targeted amount. This support came from both international and French investors, reflecting confidence in Waga Energy's growth trajectory and its strategic focus on global expansion.

The newly raised funds are earmarked for accelerating Waga Energy's expansion into international markets. Specifically, the proceeds will finance the equity portion of capital expenditures for new projects and the pre-manufacturing and manufacturing of WAGABOX® units. These developments are part of Waga Energy's strategy to capitalize on the growing demand for RNG, particularly in North America, where the company has recently started its first production units in Spain, Canada, and the United States.

Company CEO Mathieu Lefebvre expressed gratitude towards the investors and outlined the strategic implications of the fundraising. The capital injection will enable Waga Energy to finance new production units, focusing significantly on the United States—a market with high commercial success in recent months. This endeavor is intended to accelerate value creation for stakeholders while contributing to global efforts against warming through methane emissions reduction and biomethane production.

The offering resulted in the issuance of 3,939,394 new shares at a price of €13.20 per share, reflecting a slight discount to the market and accounting for approximately 19.2% of the pre-offering share capital. This move aims to reinforce Waga Energy's financial position as it pursues its ambition to reach a 2026 revenue target of €200 million, leveraging both the offering proceeds and additional non-dilutive financing sources.
