Watzke Elected as UEFA Vice-President
Hans-Joachim Watzke, Chairman of the Management Board of Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA, has been re-elected to the UEFA Executive Committee. This decision was made during the UEFA Congress in Belgrade. Watzke, aged 65, secured his place by obtaining 48 votes out of 55 from the UEFA associations.
His re-election extends his tenure as an Executive Committee member for another four years. Following his re-election, Watzke was also unanimously elected as one of the vice-presidents of UEFA during the committee meeting.
This development reflects the continuing confidence in Watzke's leadership within European soccer's governing body. Borussia Dortmund continues to be a key player in international football governance.
