Westchester County Selects GMV for $16M Transit Technology Upgrade

GMV Innovating Solutions, SL has secured a $16 million contract to upgrade transit technology in Westchester County, NY. The project will enhance the efficiency and oversight of Bee Line bus operations, improving customer experience. A new GMV office in New York Metro area will support this initiative.

The GMV Hub, a robust vehicle computer, will be installed on 325 Bee Line buses. The device includes GPS, automatic passenger counters, next stop announcements, and a DVR system for security footage. This technology aims to reduce equipment costs and add value for the County.

GMV's cloud-based ITS Suite will provide applications for planning, scheduling, dispatching, garage management, and video management. These tools will enable real-time data exchange and better control of bus operations. The system will support modern technical architecture and cloud computing.

GMV's expansion in the U.S. includes a new office in New York to offer localized support. CEO Ian Sephton emphasizes the importance of customer service and in-person collaboration for successful project delivery.

Westchester County Executive George Latimer highlighted the upgrade’s impact on customer safety, operational efficiency, and sustainability, particularly with zero-emission fleet integration.
