Wolong Enapter Joint Venture Commences AEM Megawatt Electrolyzer Production
On October 11, 2024, Wolong Enapter Hydrogen Technologies Ltd, a collaboration between Enapter AG and China's Wolong Group, announced the start of series production for their AEM megawatt electrolyzer at the Shangyu facility. This milestone marks the launch of the joint venture's efforts to penetrate the Chinese green hydrogen market.
The venture has already secured several memoranda of understanding (MoU) with key Chinese entities, including Concord New Energy and Baowu Steel, the country's largest steel manufacturer. Baowu Steel aims to expand its green hydrogen output, enhancing its efforts in reducing carbon emissions.
Dr. Jürgen Laakmann, CEO of Enapter AG, emphasizes that this production start is a strategic step for expanding in China's market. Pang Xinyuan, Chairman of Wolong Electric Group, highlights the rapid development partnership, stating the venture's readiness for future collaborations.
