World Dog Alliance: Symbolic Puppy Gift Highlights Commitment to Global Peace
ASHGABAT, TURKMENISTAN / ACCESSWIRE / July 11, 2024 / In a gesture symbolizing international friendship, South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol and First Lady Kim Keon-hee received two Alabai puppies from Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. This coincides with the 10th anniversary of the World Dog Alliance (WDA), founded by Genlin in Hong Kong on June 21, 2014. The organization advocates for the worldwide prohibition of eating dogs and cats.
The WDA has promoted legislative changes in countries including the United States, Italy, and Japan. The organization's efforts highlight the role of animals in diplomacy, reminiscent of China's "panda diplomacy" that began in 1941. The recent puppy gift further underscores international cooperation and peace.
Genlin urged South Korea to lead the "International Agreement to Prohibit the Eating of Dogs and Cats," enhancing global moral standards. Eating dog and cat meat remains in some cultures, but awareness is shifting, especially among younger generations.
The WDA remains dedicated to "dog and cat diplomacy," promoting compassion and world peace.
