World War II Heroes to Lead 2024 National Memorial Day Parade

The American Veterans Center has announced the return of the National Memorial Day Parade, which will take place on May 27, 2024, along Constitution Avenue in Washington. This significant event will feature World War II veterans as Grand Marshals to commemorate the upcoming 80th anniversary of D-Day. The parade is set to begin at 2 pm, following musical performances starting at 1 pm.

Highlighting the service and sacrifice of over 16 million Americans during World War II, the parade will include veterans who fought in Europe, the Pacific, and served in 'The Mighty 8th Air Force.' This year's parade, supported by Boeing, aims to serve as a tribute to all U.S. military personnel who have served in past and present conflicts and to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

The event promises to draw hundreds of thousands of spectators and will be broadcast nationally and globally, reaching over 100 million households. This year's parade will also feature historical re-enactors, military veterans, and active duty personnel alongside soon-to-be-announced celebrities and entertainers.
