XCF Global Remarks on Accelerating SAF Adoption Amid Decarbonization Efforts
XCF Global, Inc., a major contributor to decarbonizing aviation via Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), has commented on the shifting global policies promoting SAF adoption. The International Air Transport Association estimates airlines will require 165 billion gallons of SAF annually by 2050 for net-zero emissions. Yet, production in 2024 was just 330 million gallons. Bridging this gap calls for a 27% yearly increase in capacity, with the construction of numerous new facilities, potentially elevating the SAF market from $25 billion in 2030 to $270 billion by 2050.
Governments globally are responding with mandates and incentives. By 2030, countries with SAF mandates or incentives could encompass over 4 billion people. The U.S. aims for 35 billion gallons of SAF by 2050, while Europe's mandates project a rise to 70% SAF by the same year. Other regions, including the UK and Asia-Pacific, are setting similar targets.
XCF CEO Mihir Dange highlights infrastructure expansions as crucial for transitioning SAF from pilot phases to widespread adoption. Dependable supply and verifiable standards are seen as key drivers for future growth.
