Zhen Hua 30 Achieves Major Offshore Engineering Milestone
The Zhen Hua 30, renowned as the world's largest 12,000-ton self-propelled revolving crane vessel, has successfully executed China’s inaugural 10,000-ton offshore steel structure installation. This significant accomplishment took place off the coast of Yangjiang in Guangdong Province under challenging sea conditions. Employing a breakthrough "float-and-lift" method, the vessel installed the lower structures of two offshore converter stations, integral to the Three Gorges Yangjiang Qingzhou V and VII projects.
The Qingzhou projects feature the most advanced offshore power transmission systems globally. When operational, they will supply up to 7.7 billion kilowatt-hours of renewable energy annually. The project site is located 74 kilometers offshore, with foundations anchored by 10,200-ton jackets secured with eight steel pipe piles, each measuring 115 meters long. The complex operation demonstrated the vessel's precision and advanced capabilities.
