ZPMC Delivers Topside Module for China's Offshore Substation
Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries (ZPMC) has successfully shipped the topside module for China's first lightweight integrated offshore substation. This module is part of the Guodian Tangshan Leting Yuetuo Island Offshore Wind Farm Phase I project. The operation required only four days for completion, from loading to sea fastening. The wind farm, located in North China, spans 34 square kilometers with an installed capacity of 304 MW, while the substation is designed to support 300 MW.
The three-story steel structure of the topside module measures 45 meters in length, 38 meters in width, and 23 meters in height, and weighs approximately 1,700 tonnes. ZPMC handled the construction of the topside module, lower foundation jacket, and steel pipe piles, leveraging its expertise in offshore wind equipment fabrication. This project aims to enhance North China's energy mix and bolster the region's shift towards green and low-carbon industry.
