COMPAGNIE DES ALPES AND GREENYELLOW
LAUNCH THE INSTALLATION OF PHOTOVOLTAIC CARPORTS AT PARC ASTÉRIX, FUTUROSCOPE AND WALIBI RHÔNE-ALPES
Paris, 12 March 2025 – Compagnie des Alpes (CDA), the European leader in leisure, and GreenYellow, a global leader in decentralized energy transition, are deploying an ambitious project combining solar energy production, 440 electric vehicle charging points and 2 MWh of energy storage solutions at the sites of Futuroscope, Walibi Rhône Alpes, and Parc Astérix.
Aligned with CDA Group’s environmental commitments, the installation of 18.6 MWp of photovoltaic parking carports will help secure energy costs and optimize the self-consumption of renewable electricity. These infrastructures will cover nearly 25% of the self-consumed electricity needs of these three parks.
With the installation of photovoltaic carports in four parking lots (P2, P3, P6, and the employee parking lot), Parc Astérix is deploying a significant infrastructure that will reach 7.6 MWp of solar energy, producing 7.1 GWh annually for full self-consumption. The first phase of construction, set to begin in early 2026, already includes the creation of 120 charging points for electric vehicles, with the goal of electrifying 370 parking spaces. Additionally, the program includes an energy storage solution to stabilize the park’s power supply during peak demand periods.
Futuroscope park, where construction began in January 2025, will benefit from 5.4 MWp of solar carports for full self-consumption, generating an annual production of 6.4 GWh. In addition, 40 charging points for electric vehicles will be deployed in 2025 as part of the partnership, strengthening the sustainable mobility offering.
Walibi Rhône-Alpes will benefit from 5.6 MWp of solar carports (a mix of self-consumption and grid injection) with an annual production of 6.5 GWh and will offer 30 charging points for electric vehicles. Construction, which also began in January, is expected to be completed by December 2025.
Dominique Thillaud, CEO of Compagnie des Alpes: "The implementation of this program is part of Compagnie des Alpes' commitment to expanding renewable energy production at its leisure sites as much as possible, with similar installations at Walibi Belgium since 2023 and Bellewaerde starting in 2026. In the long run, approximately 15% of the group’s total electricity consumption is expected to be covered by photovoltaic energy. GreenYellow’s extensive expertise allows us to move quickly with the concrete implementation of these installations, accelerating our electricity production and self-consumption strategy. Additionally, these projects include the deployment of charging stations for electric vehicles for our amusement park visitors— a step toward reducing Scope 3 emissions."
Romain Butte, General Manager of GreenYellow France: "With this program, Compagnie des Alpes strengthens its commitment to an ambitious and economically sound energy transition. GreenYellow is proud to support this initiative by offering integrated and innovative offers across multiple occupied sites. These three projects illustrate our ability to go beyond photovoltaics by integrating in third-party investment electric vehicle charging stations and energy storage solutions, creating value for our clients."
