  PRESS RELEASE

EUROPORTE announces the acquisition of GIRAVERT and completes its range of services

Lille (59) and Arsy (60), 15 July 2024

Europorte, a subsidiary of the Getlink group and a major player in rail freight and rail infrastructure management in France, has announced the signature of an agreement for the acquisition, through its subsidiary Socorail, of a 67% stake in Giravert, a company specialising in vegetation treatment.

The acquisition extends Europorte’s scope of infrastructure management activities to a key component in its service offerings.

Founded in 2000, Giravert, which employs nine people and generated sales of 1.4 million euros in 2023, is based in Arsy (60). The company has recognised expertise in vegetation treatment (weed control, brush clearing and turfing), as well as specialised equipment for interventions on rail networks (railroad locotractors) and turfing (hydroseeders). The company will be chaired by Raphaël Doutrebente. Alain Jupille, who has run the company since 2010, will take over as CEO.

This operation will provide customers with an integrated service offering that is resolutely focused on respect for the environment, notably by offering alternatives to phytosanitary products.

Giravert's Managing Director will retain a 33% stake in the company, enabling him to continue supporting its growth.

"With this new acquisition, we now have an integrated service offering for our customers. Backed by our facility maintenance and rail works activities (urban networks, private networks and the national rail network), vegetation treatment enables us to broaden our offering and provide a complete, single-source service," said Europorte Chairman Raphaël Doutrebente.

"This joining with Europorte seemed natural to us from the outset as the rail business is an area in which we believe and invest. Thanks to the history between our two structures, we'll be building growth on solid foundations," said Alain Jupille, Giravert's Managing Director. "
