PRESS RELEASE
Golding appoints Barbara Phélippeau as its first Partner for People & Culture
- Barbara Phélippeau has more than 25 years’ international experience in the design and implementation of innovative HR strategies in growing companies
- New position establishes HR strategy at partner level as part of the strategic growth plan
Munich, 3 July 2023 – Golding Capital Partners, one of Europe's leading independent asset managers for alternative investments, with more than €13.5 billion in assets under management and 23 years of market experience, has appointed Barbara Phélippeau, an experienced human resources expert, as a new partner. This will drive the transformation of Golding’s HR function into a modern, sustainable and holistic practice and so reflect the ever-growing importance of agile, cutting-edge personnel management for its business.
“Barbara Phélippeau brings some 25 years of experience, and an enormous breadth and depth of HR expertise. This experience, the values she personifies every day, and her innovative concepts make her an ideal fit for us. Competition for the best talent is becoming increasingly exciting across the entire value chain of institutional capital management. And that makes it all the more important for us to attract and retain the best possible candidates. So I am delighted that we have been able to enlist Barbara specifically to develop these areas”, says Jeremy Golding, Founder and Managing Partner of Golding.
“From the very first second I was impressed by the authentic sense of empathy and community I felt at Golding. Golding is a very approachable and personal company, which combines qualitative growth with vast competence. Another important aspect is how systematically Golding strives to make a positive impact. This will also be an essential part of my work, because we want to do even more to encourage the existing strong social engagement of our employees, for example”, adds Barbara Phélippeau, Partner at Golding. Since early May 2023 she has been responsible for the people and culture strategy at Golding, with a focus on leadership development, talent management, engagement and employer branding. Her first step will be to carry out an in-depth review of the company’s HR systems and processes, as the basis for making both its talent and performance management and compensation strategy even more professional. “I have a special passion for leadership development, which is a core element of my responsibilities: managers are the vectors for change in every company and are vital for our success. On the one hand they have to be chosen and developed carefully, and on the other we have to be an irresistible employer for the best of them”, underlines Barbara Phélippeau.
“Our strategy for organic growth not only requires us to expand our product range, distribution activities and international presence, but also to set up our HR operations to make them fit for the future. Barbara Phélippeau will help to further strengthen Golding’s position as an attractive employer and to retain and continuously expand the competences in house that are so important for our investors”, adds Hubertus Theile-Ochel, Managing Partner at Golding.
Barbara Phélippeau has been active in the design and implementation of innovative HR strategies in fast-growing international companies for 25 years. She was most recently Chief People Officer and managing director at the property company PlanetHome, where she was responsible for people and culture, building the employer brand and leadership development, among other areas. As Chief Human Resources Officer, Phélippeau was previously in charge of HR strategy and cultural integration in the context of the merger between DencoHappel and Fläkt Woods to form the FläktGroup, a leading provider of air-conditioning and ventilation technology. Other stages in her professional career include Knauf Insulation, the tobacco group Philip Morris International and the biomedicine business Miltenyi Biotec. Barbara Phélippeau is a fully qualified lawyer, who studied in Mannheim, specialising in business and company law.
