MENTOR Announces 2024 National Corporate Mentoring Honor Roll

List Recognizes Corporations Offering Mentoring Opportunities

BOSTON, MA / ACCESSWIRE / March 21, 2024 / MENTOR, the unifying champion for the youth mentoring movement, has released the 2024 National Corporate Mentoring Honor Roll. This list recognizes American corporations offering substantial mentoring opportunities to spur young people's holistic growth. Launched in partnership with First Lady Michelle Obama in 2011, the Honor Roll first challenged companies to support their employees in becoming volunteer youth mentors. In the years since, corporate engagement in youth mentoring has grown to reflect a range of innovations and strategies. These developments construct a dynamic 21st-century workforce by connecting young people to a myriad of advancement opportunities.

"Young people are grappling with real and complex challenges every day," notes MENTOR CEO, Jermaine Myrie. "We rightfully focus our attention on a young person's growth in school, at home, and in their community, but the need to nurture young people's development in the workplace is often overlooked. Recognizing such a need, the honorees on the 2024 National Corporate Mentoring Honor Roll ameliorate workforce mentoring initiatives and the youth development field writ large. They build programs, train managers, and steward ideas that ensure the continuous growth of our movement. Together, their efforts enrich the development of our youth, complementing mealtime discussions and classroom interactions in constructing brighter futures for our young people."

Whether monetarily or with employee time, this year's honorees have invested greatly. New member Marshalls provides spaces for employees to learn best practices for mentoring, while engaging in self-actualization and growth. Longstanding members EY and JPMorgan Chase & Co. continue to address skill and service gaps by connecting executives and employees with mentoring opportunities.

Carolina Pasaoglu, EY's Assistant Director of Americas Corporate Responsibility, shares, "At EY, mentoring is part of our DNA. We know that it ignites personal growth and career advancement, sparking innovation and business adaptability. Community mentoring also inspires our people to make a lasting, positive impact on the next generation, creating shared value and developing purpose-driven leaders. That's why, for more than a decade, EY has been a proud sponsor of MENTOR. We're thrilled to be named to their Honor Roll."

MENTOR's research has established that employees are happier when working for an entity that supports mentoring. Such organization-wide engagements construct a culture of mentoring that can extend to employees' professional development and value expressions. In partnership with these corporations, MENTOR continues to build relationship-centered workplaces to the shared benefit of companies, their employees, and their communities.
