Positively Arts Hosts Viewing Party for Award-Winning Documentary, Home: Mother of 3000

Clark County Commissioner Proclaims August 18 as "Positively Arts Day" in Clark County at Screening Event

LAS VEGAS, NV / ACCESSWIRE / September 4, 2024 / Positively Arts, a Las Vegas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing performing arts training to children across the Las Vegas Valley regardless of their ability to pay, hosted a celebratory viewing party for the award-winning documentary Home: Mother of 3000 on Sunday, August 18. The event was held at the HyperX Arena at the Luxor Hotel, supported by Yinghua Chen and her team at Allied Esports. The documentary, which centers on the impactful work of Positively Arts, recently received the prestigious "Best Nevada Film" award at the 10th Annual Nevada Women's Film Festival.

Positively Arts, a Las Vegas nonprofit empowering children through performing arts, is led by Pilita Simpson. This award-winning documentary showcases resilience in young artists, directed by Jemsen Yumico Bollozos and produced by Eccentric Artists.

The event opened with performances by student artists who were featured in the documentary, followed by the film's screening, and concluded with a "meet the cast" Q&A session. Clark County Commissioner Michael Naft was in attendance to present a special proclamation, officially designating August 18 as "Positively Arts Day" in Clark County. The declaration recognizes the organization's decade-long commitment to empowering youth through the arts. Commissioner Naft presented Simpson with a plaque, honoring her contributions to the community and commending the audience for their continued support of the organization.

Home: Mother of 3000 is a feature-length documentary that delves into the unique teaching methods of Positively Arts, which nurtures children's self-expression through creative performance programs while emphasizing mental health practices and inclusive social skills for youth under 18. Directed by three-time Emmy Award-winning director Jemsen Yumico Bollozos and produced by Eccentric Artists, the film not only showcases the organization's impact but also tells the inspiring story of its CEO and Founder, Pilita Simpson, whose unwavering dedication has touched the lives of thousands of children throughout the Valley and beyond.

Filmed in early 2022,the film follows young artists aged 7 to 17 preparing for an original musical theater production of "The Audition Room." It captures their journey through the rehearsal process and documents the organization's impact on their lives. The cast members, now two and a half years older, were present at the viewing party and engaged with attendees during the Q&A session.

In a significant announcement during the event, Allied Sports CEO Yinghua Chen, who also serves as the CEO of Allied Gaming & Entertainment / Allied ESports, was introduced as a new board member for Positively Arts. Allied ESports generously donated the HyperX Arena venue for this celebration, further demonstrating their long-standing partnership with and belief in the mission of Positively Arts.
