Düsseldorf, 26 June 2023. The Stepstone Group, one of the world's leading recruiting platforms, is supporting the Invictus Games 2023 in Düsseldorf as an Official Supplier. The company, which is also based in the capital of North Rhine-Westphalia, is thus setting an example for equality and inclusion. At the Invictus Games, over 500 wounded, injured and sick active and former military personnel from 22 nations will compete amicably in ten sports from 9 to 16 September 2023.
"One of our company values is: We radically include. Equality and inclusion are not only part of The Stepstone Group's DNA. Equal opportunities are also a top priority for us in the labor market," says CEO Sebastian Dettmers. “We are proud and excited to be part of the Invictus Games’ success story, which is giving so many people inspiration and strength for their life’s journey,” he emphasized.
Brigadier General Alfred Marstaller, Project Manager of the INVICTUS GAMES DÜSSELDORF 2023 presented by Boeing: "German soldiers have been participating in the Invictus Games since 2014. This initiative builds on the positive effects of the established system of rehabilitation after deployment injury in the armed forces. At its core, it is about recognizing and appreciating individuals who have suffered bodily or psychological harm during deployment and supporting their journey through rehabilitation in the best possible way."
The Invictus Games were first held in London in 2014 and are based on an idea by Prince Harry, who served as a soldier in the Afghan war. The focus of the games is not on top performances, but on people who have created new perspectives for themselves through willlpower and the courage to face life. The event, sponsored by the Bundeswehr and the city of Düsseldorf, carries the motto of "A HOME FOR RESPECT." The venue includes the MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA, the adjacent sports park and the Rheinbad.
