European legislation strengthens digitalization for the protection of whistleblowers
The proportion of companies in France with a reporting channel reached 99% in 2023. The Sapin 2 law, reinforced by the Waserman law, encouraged this transition. According to the EQS Group 2024 survey, 76% of French companies use digital solutions to manage reports.
96% of companies cite compliance with laws as their main motivation, while 63% emphasize the importance of developing a culture of speaking up. In 2023, 64% of companies had received at least one report, with large companies being the most affected.
82% of companies offer anonymous reporting channels. Additionally, 84% also allow external stakeholders to use these channels, a move reinforced by the European Corporate Sustainability Directive adopted in 2023.
