Revolutionary Study by Florentaise on Peat-Free Substrates

Florentaise recently unveiled the results of an efficiency study on professional substrates without peat, highlighting significant benefits for the environment and cultivation. Conducted in spring 2023 at the CATÉ in Saint-Pol-de-Léon, this research compared water and mineral behavior in soils with and without peat. Faced with potential increased regulation on peat use to protect peatlands, this initiative proves to be relevant.

The results showed that Florentaise's peat-free substrates allow for a reduction in water consumption of up to 28% for Choisya cultivation and 15% for Griselinia, in addition to promoting better root development and stronger plant growth. Slight adjustments to fertilization were necessary, but these can be easily fine-tuned, thus promoting more sustainable cultivation practices.

Jean-Pascal Chupin, CEO of Florentaise, expresses his satisfaction with the external validation of the company's peat-free soils, reinforcing Florentaise's commitment to innovative and environmentally friendly cultivation solutions.
