Veolia buys OCEANE 2025 for 364 million euros
Veolia Environnement repurchased part of its OCEANE bonds maturing in January 2025. This operation was carried out as part of a procedure to construct a reverse order book, announced on August 2, 2024 in Aubervilliers.
Put into circulation in September 2019, these bonds offered a conversion option with a premium of 35% compared to the value of the share at the time, i.e. €22.52. Thanks to the strong performance of Veolia shares, the exercise price has been exceeded several times. Veolia therefore chose the buyout to protect the interests of its shareholders.
The repurchase concerns 11,971,503 OCEANE 2025 for a total amount of €364,053,406.18, representing approximately 52% of the total initially issued. The redemption price was set at €31.44 per bond, based on the VWAP of Veolia shares on August 2, 2024. Delivery of this transaction is scheduled for August 9, 2024.
