Gungnir Extends Key Knaften Gold Licence and Highlights Regional Exploration Potential
Gungnir Resources Inc. has received approval to extend a key licence, Knaften nr 600, for a further three years. The 18,8 km2 licence covers the southern part of a gold-hosting intrusion and untested Induced Polarization chargeability anomalies up to 40 mV/V. The Company plans to focus on advancing its Lappvattnet high-grade nickel project and increasing exploration coverage across its entire property portfolio in Sweden's Vasterbotten District. The region holds over ten million ounces of gold delineated in existing and mined resources, including several past-producing and producing volcanogenic massive sulphide base metal mines in the well-known Skellefte Belt, alongside nickel resources located in the eastern part of the district. To guide future drilling, the Company aims to complete if viable an evaluation of geophysical options at Lappvattnet and emphasize prospecting and geological mapping to potentially generate new targets in the 2024 regional work program. The extended licence at Knaften nr 600 is part of the larger Knaften-Hemberget project, which offers potential new discoveries at Hemberget, including gold and base metals. Gungnir will also review geophysical options and complete an updated work plan permit (2024-25) for Knaften nr 600, inclusive of drilling. The Company expects to commence field work in the second quarter of 2024 as conditions allow. -
